1. Fender Player Stratocaster (despite the QC issuies they seem to have lately) 2. PRS Silver Sky SE (despite the price in EU) 3. Epiphone Les Paul Standard 60s 4. Yamaha Revstar II 5. Sire S7 Vintage I might be biased because I`m looking to buy a Strat and I`m not into the Mooer preamp effects thingy. I think Sire and EART are doing just a good of a job as Mooer for half the price but the weight of the name on the headstock is not to be ignored if considering resell value.
I really love the Squier - looks like my dream Strat (I would throw it out of the window to add some realistic relic finishing touches and then it would be perfect)
Then I really hope you don't live on the 7th floor or something similar. 😆 Also, it's a poly finished guitar, it doesn't age the same way as nitro. I think these Squiers will look coolest if they age in a natural way 😅 //Kris
For me, the top 5 Guitars this year are Eastmans. Every guitar i tried was superb, and the SB59v is the best guitar i ever had in my hands. Truly a work of art. Shame that Thomann doesnt have them.
I'm a bit stunned to not see the Revstar represented here. Everyone seems to love them, some epic players & demonstrators are constantly playing them, I've yet to even see any available for more than a few weeks online so they're selling...maybe even Thomann couldn't snag one for a video.
Yeah, the Revstar should totally be in a top 5 of the year video. And we know they're selling well. I want to get one but every time I've checked all the major retailers in the past 6 months they're always out of stock.
Hey Sam, and there's your answer right in your comment: if you don't see it in stock, we can't grab one for a video. We wanted to check them out but they are never here long enough to order one from the warehouse. Hopefully next year. Cheers //Kris
I guess in the long run it's a good sign that they're selling so well. That must mean their good instruments. I'm hoping to get one with P-90's some day.
Thanks! To be honest, for the most part it wasn't us but the Thomann's customers, haha! We were just lucky because people seemed to show interest in pretty cool guitars. 😅 //Kris
My Top 5 including ones I own, and I don't are 1- ESP M-II E-II Blk Neck Thru 2- KIKO100 3- My LTD M-1000BP 4- My Ibanez Q 5- ESP KH-2 Custom Shop... or my EC-256....
Sure the Gibson and the Squier look really cool too. Always happy in this time of the year to see all your top 5 stuff :D MAybe a top 5 lunch box amp and standard head?
Great video guys, love the guitars! Quick question, do y'all use a reverb for your voice in post or it's just the reverb in the room? Sounds marvelous!
Hey, we don't use any effects for the speech mics. It's a big room, so if you hear anything, that's literally just the real verb of the room. Cheers //Kris
I can totally see that coming up at some point. They have the s-style and headless now, so I'm sure they'll go for some more traditional guitar types too. //Kris
I want a Harley Benton Single Cut Gold Top to take to gigs but i’m concerned that it will need work to correct basic construction issues before I can use it. How can I ensure that this won’t happen? Does Thomann offer Plek?
They do have a plek. It's been in a couple of vids. You can add it to your web cart order by searching the product catalogue for "Plek Services". But why not order one, check the frets for yourself, and just send it back if you're not happy? There are occasional niggles and criticisms of HB across yt vids with minor paint blemishes or minor fret end dressing, sometimes one fret needs levelling, but I don't often see vids where the frets are in such a mess it needs a plek to fix them. (And it doesn't seem to me Thomann cherry pick the good ones for RUclipsrs either - some of them order anonymously via friends)
Kris, As always your guitar 🎸 ability is phenomenal. You are awesome my friend. My question is how big is the quality difference between your quality Fender Tele and the HB Tele??
Thanks a lot Joe! I can't quantise the difference between my tele and a HB t-style unfortunately. I very much prefer my guitar for many reasons. Most differences are small but there are quite a few of them. The neck, the body weight, the pickups, the pots, the bridge, the tuners and of course the nitro finish. It all comes together and ends up being the perfect guitar for me. 🤷♂️ I guess it's as much of a spec list thing as a personal preference matter. Sorry mate, this wasn't very helpful, I know. haha! One thing is clear: if you put Fender Nocaster pickups and Mojotone electronics in a Harley t-style you can get very close to let's say my tele. 👍 Cheers //Kris
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses Kris, I purchased a HB Standard Series a year ago. I can't say it's one of my favorites. I have a collection of electric guitars but just that one Tele. How is this Harley Benton Guitar in the list of the Top 5 Guitars of 2022? It sounds like Dog Poo. You could have just attached a few strings to a stone. It would sound similar.
Hey, you can't even imagine how many bought HB guitars throughout the year. How could they not make it in a Top5 that's based on top sellers and most hyped guitars? Tbh if we haven't limited the amount of instrument per brand to just 1, probably all five would've been Bentons. That's how crazy people are for them. 🤷♂️ Cheers //Kris

This feels like a top five guitars that we’ve got to much stock of before the year ends video? Just funning! I enjoy the year end videos.
I love the Squier 40th Anniversary. Absolutley awesome!

That Mooer on gained sound and bridge humbucker sounded surprisingly damn good.
Otherwise that Gretsch stole my heart on many levels
The Gretsch is great! Got me the G5222 in natural ;)
All Epiphone "inspired by Gibson" especially the Les Paul special tv yellow and the Junior.. great guitars!

I REALLY like the TE62, but I need a rounder fretboard radius than a 12 for my poor arthritic left hand.
Would you prefer 7.5, 9.5? Can you tell a model you liked?
